CHEERS TO SOLITUDE!

In celebration of 15 years of the Sukatoyo sound, I present to you "Saludad"; my 5-track compilation of experimental edits, attuned improvised jams and textural sound studies that I documented into tape all in 2023.

Saludad is a 38-minute conscious sound journey that are largely composed through a focused entanglement with tape loops, self-made synth presets, granular magic, field recordings and a ton of recently discovered old recordings, vst plugins and digital effects that are saved in my hard drive...I laid out all these elements and improvised some long-form compositions based on my current mood at the time of the recording. Some are exported right away if I feel that the spirit of the piece is right on and others I edited to make them sound as I wanted them to be. A few of them I broke down into pieces to study the sound textures and then rearranged or jammed with it again to re-record.

For most part of this album, I translated into soundscapes the impediments that I have as a struggling outsider artist in the UAE and the fun that I try to get out of these experiences. Most of these challenges are social but some are also internal in correlation to what I feel about our times in general.

Proud to say that I now have found a new vision and maturity for the Sukatoyo sound moving forward and these are just a taste of what's about to come.

Inpired by my daughter Nirvana and a lot of the people that I know and socialize with here in Dubai, I want to send all the love to the supporters of this album... One in particular to Vedika Kushalappa for the awesome artwork that I can relate a lot to and the people that are part of my Analog Amigo circle...you bunch is what's keeping me on!
